5lbs. of ants...

"5-lbs of Ants" is a new horror movie coming from the creative minds of Dean Snodgrass (LRMD) and Austin Hartman (me) and some creative help and revising from Caitlin Hannah (LRMD). It's going to be amazing, and scary. Its about 5-lbs. of ants and them getting dumped on people and going places and killing them. How do they kill them?..they are ants. They ants collectively....WAIT A SEC. T-M-I. you just gotta check it out.

So, aside from that non-sense I am here to talk to you about the new Blonde Redhead cd: 23. My first interaction with the cd was with the bonus song (on 7") they give you when you buy the cd. It is by far the newest sounding thing on the cd in comparison to previous albums. The song is called 'Signs Along The Path', and that song is a must listen to. As for the rest of the cd, here are my thoughts: I am a huge fan of MISERY IS A BUTTERFLY and to me this cd was not really on par with it, but it was definitely good to listen to. As for creativity in connection to previous albums, it sounded like a collective of all the albums. I would say this music is good for reading or doing something mellow at a cafe or in your room or in your car or at your friends house or at the store or at the lobby of the del mar theater or at a restaurant or on the moon or or or or or or...

p.s. I would love to get feedback. I don't know if we have any readers and everyone talks about these comments they get and I get none. Mom I know you read this so don't feel pressured to comments...But, where you at foolz?

also any recommendations and changes you would like to see here at phantom polaroid? aside form maybe asking Madison to actually post every once and awhile.

p.p.s The Real People are really coming next post.

So I've been spoted. While its been a LONG time since I've been a polaroid phantom. I (we) at Phantom Polaroid now stand for something different, cooler, and not as thievish. We like good music, good (and/or funny) videos, and are hilarious and damn good writers.

In others news.

This is my friend Peter Wallner. This is his new band: NEW BENGAL SPICE. Its just him, he writes all the music, and its rad. He is also in Sheena and Stegosaurus Scuba-Diver. You can also check them out. But I won't post about them.

Tracks:

Faux News

So I got this friend Joe. He is REALLY funny. Funnier then a 17lbs. rabbit that probably doesn't exist. But his show does.

Its called Fair and Balanced and is a Faux News show that is hilarious, political, and smart. Better then some fake reality tv show about kitten calenders. LAME.

SO...you should check out his new epi (#19) and send them feedback. They would really apreciate the comments and support. Keep it real.

http://www.myspace.com/Fair_and_balanced

cheers.

100 reasons Phantom Polaroid is better then you...

Bring the lid down on your dome. This weekend, regarldess how much I didn't sleep, was amazing.

My other blog is a kubota.

Hello, meet what a Kubota really is. This is happening because on the way back from seeing Disturbia (which I cannot talk about because Dean Snodgrass of LRMD called blog dibbs) a man had on his car plates had this: My Other Car Is A Kubota. And it was funnier when I didn't know what a Kubota was. Boring.

In other words, while not talking about the awesomeness of the bad film 'Disturbia', I will mention the amazing excution of this, that was taken about by the director and producers of this film:

Its a BUGS knocks LIFE, for us. (insert sad face for bad joke).

dont forget to download DOCK JAMS '07 as seen below.

Dock Jams (master mix volume no. 1)

Yes. Many have heard you speak of my refound excitment and appreciation to ESPN's early to mid 1990's attempt and pumping up the jams with their multi volume cd: JOCK JAMS. Its an amazing colleciton of songs ment to 'pump you up' as you are working out before the big game. Now it is nostalgic and funny and good to ride a bike to and have hell dance parties.

So loose your dome piece to this, my personal selection of the 90+ songs released of their four volumes.

AUSTIN'S DOCK JAMS (master mix volume no.1)
volume 1:
Lets Get Ready To Rumble
2 Unlimited - Get Ready 4 This
Tag Team - Whoomp! (there it is)
69 Boys - Tootsie Roll
C & C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat
Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam
Rob Base - It Takes Two

volume 2:
2 Unlimited - No Limit
Coolio - 1,2,3,4
The Out There Brothers - Boom Boom Boom
Dis N' Dat - Party
Los Del Mar - Macarena
The Bucketheads - The Bomb

volume 3:
Freaky Nasty - Da Dip
Livin' Joy - Don't Stop Moving

volume 4:
Quad City Djs - Space Jam
Hypertrophy - Beautiful Day
2 Unlimitied - Unlimited MEGA Jam
3rd Party - Can You Feel It!
Amber - One More Night

So now that you have the best mix of music ever....go ride a bike, so walk somewhere, get drunk at a party and dance, have sex...it don't matter. JUST ENJOY THE DOCK JAMS (vol. no. 1) 2007.

More volumes of Dock Jams will come at a latter time, but enjoy this for now. Download what you want, but they are all amazing.

Klingon > Elvish

Its been awhile since my last post...but I've been busy. Getting older is not easy. Thank you to everyone who remembered to think of me. And those awesome friends who gave me presents.

But what else is knew: On Thursday night I played a show with my new-new band Super-Sect. This was an amazing amount of fun regardless of how bad we sounded. But what the point is: The band who played before was 'The Show Is The Rainbow'. It's one heacy set bearded Nebraskin. He blew my mind from my dome piece. I was drunk, I bought a shirt, and then downloaded his music.

Now I bring it to you.

So drop your domes on this.

i gave myself a tattoo today...

And I'm back from spring break. Short but sweet. I visited Dean (of LRMD) up in MARIN "THE CUTTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD". He took me to all the sweet spots. It was nice. And then I did nothing for a week (unlike Madison who was jet setting around the country and was on the east coast, in NY, probably doing a lot of kick ass drugs and having crazy awesome sex).

What-eves. I don't care because I was rocking out to the new 45 min Flosstradamus track(s) that they released at SXSW for vice records. And normally I would post the song, but because the hosting site I use says it is too big I will give you this:
Vice Records... Mixed by Flosstradamus

So eat it up bitches. Throw this on your mp3 player and ride a bike.

more to come...

its a new week...

how was your spring break everyone?

mine was WEIRD.

i went to new york. and saw people. and took the subway. and saw dinosaurs at the natural history museum. and sat in central park. and went to lots of bars. and spooned with my bestests.

and then. someone told me things that made my brain go OH MY GOD I DONT KNOW. so now i have to think a lot....and i hate doing that.

anyway.....listen to Devendra Banhart. he makes me happy. i sorta wanna marry him because hes reaaaallllyyy pretty and has the most fun voice ever.

http://www.myspace.com/devendrabanhart

also. i watched Happy Feet over break...the baby penguins are the cutest things in the world and i want one....i want the one that raps. then when it grows up and gets ugly i'll feed it to a leopard seal.
word.

anyway. i have to go design some weanie babies...i'll tell you more about my new creations later.

HAVE A GOOD DAY OR WHATEVER.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

Water is worth more than you...

What cam first? The Chicken or the egg? Because in David Cross's case, it was Mr. Bob Show before Tobias of Arrested Development. People forget that. They also think that is only reason he is famous. Have you ever heard of 'Small Soliders' with Phil Hartman? People might begin to think Madison has more imdb credits then David Cross.

David Cross > Madison > Madison's Dog.

Two things:
1) Go to apple.com/trailers, and look up 'Eagle vs. Shark' it looks brilliant. Maybe this is because the lead actor Jermaine, is in the second best stand up comedy singing groups ever: Flights Of The Conchords.

2) I was recently given the link to an amazing experimental short film by Todd Haynes called "Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story". It was extremely amazing, especially for when it was made. So if you have an extra 43 minutes laying around watch this, because it is worth your while:

Bear Cats > Racoons.

I believe the official, not necessarily the scientific, name of Racoons should be changed to Bear-cat. While I beileve racoons are not on the family tree of either cats or bears, but I do believe racoons would/are the product of a cat having sex with a bear.

Part 2: Kevin Barnes of 'OF MONTREAL' recently started a solo acoustic show of Of Montreal stuff, and covers. And its pretty amazing. He started in Dallas texas in February. So here it is, the entire live show of kevin Barnes:

intro
Chrissie Kiss The Corpse
Climb The Ladder
Du Og Meg
Green Typewriter Suite (Olivia Tremor Control)
Harvest Moon (Neil Young)
Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse
I Will (The Beatles)
Requiem For O.M.M.2
Something To Be Laughed At
Suffer For Fashion

I don't think robots have genitalia.

So there is this band. Hardy Harr. They are friends with my friend Ben. They played in Santa Cruz. They stayed at Ben's house.

Long story short. They are awesome people. Awesome musicians. And as Caitlin (of LRMD) would say they are 'cuteness'. So give these guys a shot.

And to make my point. I don't think robots have genitalia. And on the isle of Jurassic Park, all the dino's are female.

No Passport. No travel.

I've recently been seeing the name Greenlandic Blaque a lot lately. This is maybe because they are my myspace friend and they post bulletins. But this band is pretty darn fresh. So before you sit down to watch ROAD HOUSE or GHOST you should take a listen to this band. And if for some reason I am way behind on being cool, and you've know about these guys for EVER, tell me and i will either stop posting music, or make a mean joke about you.

GREENLANDIC BLAQUE:
And I Regret Nothing. Except My Hair.
Destination Moon
Scared To Death
Watch Out Birds

I hate ugg boots.

But I thought this was funny.

Also. If you could get hair extensions or arm extensions, which would you get?

Please direct your answers to madison. She cannot decide.

...Cannot amount to the bad taste of movies Ms. Fisk beholds. She may bludgeon my looks, but after tonight I was reminded how amazing 'HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH' was. And post that how amazing Shortbus was. So regardless of how drunk you became today on St. Patty's day, remember there are still good movies out there.
